For the past years I have been planning to enroll a Medical Transcription course in TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority) but I do not have the time and most importantly, the money. But luckily, I was able to avail of the Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo scholarship and started my Medical Transcription training at Xynet, one of the TESDA accredited centers in Makati. It is a 20-day, 5 hrs a day, with Sunday as off day, training. I am really happy that finally I will be soon-to-be licensed MT, of course after I pass the qualifying exam (NC II), which is also free for the first take (500php re-take) for the scholar.
This is the first time that I avail any of the government programs. I am so glad that PGMA focuses on helping Filipinos develop new skills to increase our chance to be hired locally and internationally.
Three days more and finally I am a TESDA graduate and hopefully I can find an entry level MT job soon.
